  • Loved the tour. I have already recommended Gadventures multiple times to multiple friends, acquaintances, and chance conversations.

  • It was a wonderful experience with a few inconveniences. The people in our group and our CEO, Pierluigi, were awesome and we had a great time. I wish we had chosen a cooler month to visit Italy, and I wish we had more comfortable transportation and lodging, but I made great memories and am grateful for the experience. I really like how GAdventures supports local tourism and I've had wonderful CEOs. The public transportation is tedious and can be a real hassle, and the lodging can be uncomfortable, so I wouldn't recommend the Ultimate Italy trip to my 70+ year-old parents who would struggle with this.

  • Is tipping customary in Italy?

Yes, tipping is customary in Europe. A general guideline is 10% of the bill for wait staff and €1-€2 for other service providers. For local guides, a recommendation of €3-€5 per day is suggested. Tipping your CEO is also appreciated, with €30-€40 per person per week as a guideline.

You should have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an emergency fund for unforeseen circumstances.
  • What are the safety and security considerations during the trip?

It is recommended to use a neck wallet or money belt for valuables, leave expensive jewelry at home, and use hotel safety deposit boxes. A lock for your luggage is also advisable. Your CEO can amend itineraries if necessary due to safety concerns. While cities are generally safe during the day, it's recommended to stay in small groups and use taxis for night excursions. You should avoid protests and demonstrations. Swimming and water-based activities are at your own risk unless accompanied by a guide arranged by the company.
  • How should I dress to respect local customs, especially when visiting religious sites?

When visiting churches and cathedrals in Italy, shoulders should be covered. Your CEO can provide more specific advice.
  • Should I pre-book tickets for optional activities and popular museums?

Yes, it is strongly advised to reserve tickets in advance for popular museums such as the Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel), Colosseum, Uffizi, and Accademia Galleries, especially during high season (May-September), to avoid long queues and ensure availability.
  • What are the visa and entry requirements for Italy?

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity). Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Italy is part of the Schengen area, simplifying travel within the region. Additionally, Venice has a tourist entry fee for day visitors as of April 25th, 2024; if staying overnight, an online exemption form is required. As of 2025, ETIAS travel authorisation may also be an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals. It is your responsibility to check the latest requirements with your local embassy or consulate.
